Whether you’re prepping a large garden bed, turning over clay-heavy soil, or breaking in untouched ground, a full-size rotary hoe is the ideal piece of equipment. A heavy-duty, walk-behind machine that digs deep and powers through packed earth with ease, our rotary hoes are both durable and reliable.
At Hiredepot, we hire out professional-grade rotary hoes that are well-maintained, easy to handle, and ready to deploy for your team of builders or landscapers. Available for delivery across Melbourne or pick one up from our Glen Iris or Fairfield depots with a complimentary trailer, provided your vehicle can tow.
A rotary hoe, sometimes called a rototiller or cultivator, is used to turn, loosen, and aerate soil. It’s got spinning metal tines that dig into the ground, breaking up hard clumps and mixing through organic material. If you’re laying new turf, planting crops, or just trying to get through tough, compacted dirt, this is your tool.
The full-size models we stock are built for such work. They go deeper, work faster, and handle rougher terrain than smaller garden cultivators, so your team can get the job done quickly and efficiently.
If you’re breaking ground, this machine’s for you. It’s ideal for:
Yes, that’s exactly what it’s made for. Full-size rotary hoes are built to power through hard, sunbaked ground. You may need to do a couple of passes depending on how tough the soil is, but this unit will absolutely get the job done. If it’s extremely compacted clay, a bit of water the day before can help loosen things up.
To a certain extent, yes. The machine can handle slight slopes and bumpy ground. However, it’s best to avoid operation on steep slopes, as stability and control may be impacted.
Not necessarily. Our team is more than happy to provide basic operating instructions to you or your team upon delivery or collection. However, please note that the machine is heavy and generally requires moderate strength and coordination to operate. Please ask our staff for further advice and instruction.
This will depend on your location and the time you book in. We can generally offer same-day delivery to a range of Melbourne metro suburbs, especially when booked in the morning. However this will depend on our run schedule for the day, so please call us early to ensure we can help you out. We’ll always do our best!
Contact us today to have a rotary hoe delivered directly to your worksite anywhere across Melbourne, or visit our branches in Glen Iris or Fairfield to collect the machine.
